Our Story

Impact Allies (IA) began in 2013 supporting principal investigators and colleges carrying out National Science Foundation STEM research and workforce grants, helping them evaluate outcomes, strengthen their data, and communicate impact. As those partnerships deepened, our capabilities grew to include curriculum, software, and hardware development; project management; proposal development; and building industry and academic partnerships.

Today, IA operates as an independent sponsored research office with a negotiated federal F&A rate and a growing portfolio of prime awards and subawards across multiple disciplines. We also continue to serve higher education clients nationwide, many of them for more than a decade. This lead-and-support model lets our Fellows and partners move quickly, designing and launching rapid-response projects that meet the nation’s need for skilled technicians, scientists, and engineers.

Working alongside educators, industry leaders, and agency partners, the IA team advances critical infrastructure, equipment, and emerging technologies including applied AI, energy, electric and autonomous systems, and convergent technologies.  We strengthen STEM education, training and employment pathways.
